| Judges may participate in social networking sites, but must be cautious to avoid violating judicial ethics provisions, including those prohibiting, among other things: impropriety and the appearance of impropriety; ex parte communications with litigants; certain election activity; public or certain private statements about pending cases or public policy issues. |
