| Unless the client consents, a lawyer may not reveal to a judge the limits of his settlement authority or advice to the client regarding settlement. The judge may not require the disclosure of such information. A lawyer may not lie in response to a direct question about his settlement authority, although "a certain amount of posturing or puffery in settlement negotiations may be an acceptable convention between opposing counsel." |
