| A lawyer involved in arranging a real estate transaction has not violated the Code, because the lawyer did not attempt to represent both the buyer and the seller, and fully disclosed that the lawyer might receive a percentage of the purchase price as a fee. Canon 9 did not apply, because the "appearance of impropriety" language "applies only in the limited context of . . . former judges, former government attorneys, and attorneys' improper influence upon a tribunal, legislative body, or public official." |
