A court-appointed lawyer representing a criminal in an appeal refused to file a motion the lawyer considers frivolous, and withdrew from the representation. Although normally a lawyer would have a duty to proceed with post-trial remedies (unless the lawyer may withdraw without prejudice), "that duty has been displaced by his ethical duty not to file unwarranted or frivolous motions."
