40-Trust Accounts

A deceased lawyer's trust account may be paid to the lawyer's estate if a diligent effort has not uncovered the clients to whom the money is owed and the money is kept in an interest-bearing account until it is unlikely that any client would claim it. [The lawyer should also check any escheat laws.]
