| A lawyer cannot "appear" (either in person, by submission, letter, etc.) before any public board, or "other public body," upon which another lawyer in the firm sits. The disqualification cannot be cured by the lawyer's recusal from pertinent decisions on the board or other public body (expanding the reach of earlier LEO 1718 beyond "governing bodies" and beyond in-person "appearance" before public bodies). |
