51-Government Attorneys

A Commonwealth's Attorney's office may not administer a local alcohol safety program because the program is paid for in part by private donations that could be seen as influencing the office. Commonwealth's Attorneys may sit on the program's board as long as they do not reveal any client confidences or secrets, do not use the board position to obtain an advantage for their client and do not state or imply to their client that they may improperly influence the program.
