A lawyer may use the lawyer's spouse as a court reporter if there is disclosure and consent. The disclosure must include a description of the fees received by the spouse. Another lawyer in the firm could use the spouse as a court reporter without disclosure and consent. Any lawyer in the firm could use another reporter at the spouse's reporting company without disclosure and consent unless the spouse is an owner of the reporting company.
