4-Witness-Advocate Rule

A lawyer may continue to represent a client if the adversary has threatened to call the lawyer as a witness, until it is "apparent" that the lawyer's testimony is or may be prejudicial to the client. If there is any doubt, the lawyer should resolve it against continuing as an advocate and in favor of testifying.
